Who Needs Toys When You Have A Cousin?!

Oh my, do these girls love each other! These last couple of days, in addition to Evelyn mastering the art of sitting, she and MK have been doing some serious playing! Here they are in action last night. :)

More pics and stories from Bama and MK's visit to come!

What a Weekend!!

After (what seemed like) an entire week of rain, the weather took a turn for the better, just in time for the weekend! Mama, daddy and Evelyn all had a fun-filled 2 1/2 days!
Friday, before daddy headed out to go turkey hunting, we all headed to the neighborhood park where Evelyn took her first ride in a big girl swing! She LOVED it! Her giggles are my new favorite sound and she had plenty of them to share.

Daddy even got in on the action and gave Evelyn a few pointers.

Saturday, Evelyn got to cheer on her favorite team, the Linfield Wildcats, as the softball team was in town for the NCAA Division 3 West Regional tournament. This picture was taken by the one and only Dawn Graf-Haight, chair of the HHPA department, and mama's former advisor! I'm so glad we got to see Dawn and catch up. I'm even more glad that Dawn didn't decide to give Evelyn her first lesson on where babies come from (Dawn's favorite subject!)

Sunday, Evelyn got another chance to cheer on the Wildcats, and got another chance to see a Linfield victory! The Cats won all 4 of their games and won the regional tournament. As we speak, they are on their way to Eau Claire, WI for the national tournament. Go Cats!

I think we've got a future first baseman on our hands. :)

Jabber Jaw!!

Evelyn has found her voice in the last week or so, and she is not afraid to use it! Here she is, talking away in her swing. (I apologize if the video makes you a little motion sick.) ;)

Good Morning Sunshine!

Evelyn is just the happiest girl when she wakes up in the morning!

Rice Cereal: 1, Evelyn: 0

Last weekend, after weeks of tormenting from Bama, we tried to feed Evelyn rice cereal. It was not the success we all hoped it would be. Well, the eating part wasn't a success, but the comic relief part sure was. Looks like we'll be trying again this weekend.

She just keeps growing, and growing, and growing...

Today was Evelyn's 4 month check-up. In addition to another round of shots (which she took like a trooper!), we found out just how big she is these days. Here are the stats:
Height: 26 1/2" (up 1 1/2", 97th percentile)
Weight: 15 lbs. 1 oz. (up 1 lb. 9 oz., 68th percentile)

Happy Easter!!

Easter weekend was a little bit crazy at the Owens' house this year. Aunt Leanne, Uncle Rusty and cousin AJ welcomed baby EJ to the family on April 2. We entertained AJ and took her and Evelyn to their first Easter Egg Hunt and we had our first Easter Egg hunt at home, with REAL eggs!

Thursday, before EJ's arrival on Friday, we met Aunt Leanne, Uncle Rusty and cousin AJ and the girls met the Easter Bunny!

Evelyn got all bundled up on Saturday so she could help AJ at their very first Easter Egg Hunt!

Ready for the hunt!

Sunday, we had Grandma, Grandpa and cousin AJ over for Easter dinner. But what Easter would be complete without another Easter Egg Hunt? The Easter Bunny visited our house and left AJ some real eggs to look for. She soon discovered that egg shells don't taste nearly as good as the chocolate eggs she found the day before. But later, we discovered that this 19 mo. old LOVES devilled eggs!

Since Evelyn seems to prefer standing over sitting, we decided to break out the ExerSaucer and she LOVES it! Here, AJ shows her how it's done.
